3 Tips For Spring Cleaning

3 Tips For Spring Cleaning Made Easy

I don’t know about you but I hate cleaning.  Ask my mom– I’ve always hated it ha!  And as much as I love a clean home, I can’t stand actually cleaning it.  (Except for vacuuming… vacuum lines are my love language… anyone else?). However, there’s one time of the year that I actually don’t mind it and could even go as far as saying I enjoy it and that’s SPRING!  Maybe it’s purging allthethings or opening the windows for fresh air but there’s something about spring cleaning that makes me feel so good!  In case you’re like me and can’t stand to clean 99% of the time, I’m sharing my top 3 tips for spring cleaning to make it a breeze!

  1. Make a game plan-  A plan for cleaning… really? YES!   Pick a weekend day that you don’t have any plans and choose what you need to get done.  Be realistic with this… Don’t overextend yourself and decide to clean every room, do 5 loads of laundry and cook dinner because it’s not going to happen.  I purge, organize and deep clean each room then plan to get takeout once it’s all done so I don’t have to worry about cooking (or dirtying a freshly cleaned kitchen!). Pro tip- do everything in one day.  I’ve read plenty of tips that say to space it out but I disagree.  Busting it all out at once prevents you from getting too lazy to do the rest.  Plus, if you wait around, the first room will already be dirty by the time you get to the last one.
  2. Get prepared- Once you have your game plan down, sit down and take inventory of what supplies you already have and what you need to get. There’s nothing that ruins my cleaning streak like having to run to the store in the middle of it.  After you make a list of what you need to get, focus on purchasing quality cleaning products.  Personally, I love the Libman brand because not only are they genuinely good products but they’re affordable!  Plus, you can click HERE for a coupon.  Oh, and did I mention that the Libman Company also has a major sweepstakes on Pinterest right now?  5 winners will receive a “Spring Cleaning Toolkit” and one additional winner will receive a prize package plus $500 cash!  Click HERE for more information on how to enter!
  3. Enlist help and CLEAN- Once you’re prepared with your plan and your cleaning products, enlist all the help you can get!  I enlist my husband and my son, although enlisting a two year old for a day of cleaning may actually make more of a mess.  I’ve actually enlisted babysitting help though!  If you have a little one that might be too young to really help, think about asking a relative or hiring a babysitter to watch them for the day.  When the big cleaning day comes, stick to your plan and bust it all out!  Purge everything you don’t need, organize what you’re keeping then scrub the floors/walls, vacuum and clean EVERYTHING!  You’ll definitely spend the entire day cleaning but it will be SO worth it once it’s all done.  Reward yourself with your favorite takeout and relax the rest of the night!

Don’t forget to grab your $3 off Libman Company coupon and enter the Spring Cleaning Sweepstakes! Happy Cleaning!
