Whether you work 80 hours a week at the office or you’re a stay at home mom who is always on the go you should always make time for the things you enjoy. I know it can be hard to press pause on the world around you but you NEED to do it! It’s funny how taking a few minutes to do something you truly like to do can improve your mood and even your productivity. I always try to take time out of my busy day for the 5 things I allow myself to enjoy.
If you’ve been following me for awhile you know that I am pretty health conscious when it comes to my diet. So I was very excited when I discovered Lean Pockets! They are quick to make and allow me to enjoy a tasty mini-meal without feeling guilty about what I ate. Lean Pockets are a good source of protein, made with 100% real cheese and no artificial flavors. Oh, and did I mention they taste amazing?! There are so many flavors to choose from but my favorite is definitely the roasted turkey bacon & cheese with a pretzel bread crust! I’ve also been loving the chicken broccoli and cheese with a whole grain crust!
Lean Pockets are the perfect sized lunch, too. I’ve been pairing one Lean Pocket with a side of fruit or veggies to make the perfect lunch time meal. The portions are just enough to keep me going and satisfy my hunger without making me feel like I overate. Hot, fulfilling and nutritious lunch (with a short prep time) that tastes delicious? I don’t think I’ll ever forget to eat again! 😛
Me Time– this is YOUR time so you can spend it however you want. My daily me time is my skincare routine at night! Mason is already asleep and my house is quiet so I sneak away and take my time getting myself ready for bed. Other things I love doing for my me time are reading a good book, painting my nails, doing a face mask or catching up on my TV shows.
Exercise– Exercise is one of my favorite ways to recharge. Whether I’m hitting the gym for an intense workout, practicing yoga at home or just getting outside for a walk I love this time. My mood is always better after working out and it even helps me sleep better at night.
A Glass of Wine– I love drinking a glass of wine with dinner or while I’m watching TV to help me relax. A glass of wine in the evening helps me shut my brain off and stop worrying about all the silly little things that happened that day. I’m not a wine connoisseur by any means but I love trying new wines and that’s one thing I allow myself to do guilt free.
Relaxing– I love having a full schedule and being busy all day! I crave a schedule and actually find myself being more productive when I’m crazy busy. But there is nothing better than putting away the to-do list and just hanging out. Most often my relaxing is crashing on the couch at the end of the day (with said glass of wine 😉 ). I try to give myself time everyday to do nothing but relax… I swear this is how I keep my sanity!
