How I Saved Hundreds On Fall Fashion

Hey guys! Can you believe it’s already October?! I am so excited for all things fall, especially fall fashion!  Every year I try to add a few new pieces to my closet but I hate spending a fortune.  Luckily this year I was able to revamp my fall wardrobe for a fraction of the price.  I saved SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS to be exact on my new fall staples so I’m here to share how I did just that. Keep reading to find out how I saved hundreds on fall fashion this year! 🙂

If you’ve been following me for awhile you’ve probably noticed how much I love my neutrals.  When I started looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe I wanted to pick up some neutral jackets and sweaters that I knew I would get a lot of use out of but I also wanted to find something a little out of my comfort zone.  I started looking online at a few different retailers but the prices of the items I had my eye on were way out of my budget.  After searching for awhile I found thredUP and instantly fell in love.  I found brand-new and like-new designer clothes for a fraction of the retail price. Some of the brands I purchased were J Crew, Banana Republic, Gap and J Brand and everything I bought was under $25…say what?!

From left to right in the photo above I found a Gap pullover sweater ($5.99, retail $70), Banana Republic blazer ($22.99, retail $168), Express v-neck which was new with tags ($9.99, retail $24.90), J Crew v-neck ($15.99, retail $50), J Brand jeans ($9.99, retail $196) and Banana Republic jacket ($10.99, retail $168).  After I picked everything out, I applied a coupon code (I’ll share a few codes for you to use at the bottom of this post) and after all was said and done I saved a total of $600.96!!!!

The Banana Republic blazer is a little bit totally out of my comfort zone since it’s so bright but that’s exactly what I was going for!  I can’t wait to wear it out styled with jeans and pumps.  Everything else I bought is right up my alley so I’m sure I’ll get a ton of wear out of it all. I’ve already been wearing the Gap sweater like it’s my job!

Out of everything I found at thredUP my favorite look is definitely the grey J Crew v-neck with the J Brand jeans and the olive green Banana Republic jacket.  It’s pretty much becoming my fall uniform!  Over the weekend I attended a photo walk with Captured Pittsburgh x Style Social Pittsburgh so I paired that outfit with my Halogen over the knee boots from Nordstrom for a casual fall look which was perfect for the event.  I spent the morning roaming through Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood with other local fashion bloggers and 10-20 photographers.  We found some really nice areas to shoot photos and had so much fun!  It’s so cool when you get to take the friendships you make online through the blogging world into real life!

Walking around with that many photographers taking photos was definitely something new for me (I even overheard someone asking if we were famous haha!) but it was so cool to see the different shots that came out of it.  Each photographer has a different eye and style of shooting and I definitely learned a lot from their direction.  Not to mention I got some amazing shots of my new favorite fall outfit from thredUP!

As promised, here are some coupon codes to use at thredUP so you can revamp your closet, too!  For new customers use codes:

WQA50 for $50 off $125 or more

YHJ75 for $30 off $75 or more

And for existing customers we love you too! So you can take advantage of 15% off your order with code LNB15 but don’t wait around to use it.  This code is only available for a limited time!

You can also order a clean out kit to get rid of your used clothes.  You’ll get paid for any items that thredUP decides to sell and everything else will be donated.  The clean out kits are completely free and can help you free up space in your closet for the new clothes you buy!  One last thing I love about thredUP is that they offer a referral program.  Tell all your friends and family about the awesome clothes you get and you’ll earn $10 for each new person you refer!  How cool is that?

Make sure to check out thredUP and let me know what you find! I already have my eyes on a few pieces for my next order!!

Happy shopping!

Wow! You found some awesome things! I always have so much trouble finding anything I like when I check them out. How fun to get together and do the photoshoot! I was just telling my husband that I need a fellow blogger/photographer friend so we can do each other’s photos!

I have seen the ads all over the place, but you have definitely convinced me to give it a try. And since I am about to do an edit of my closet, ordering a clean out kit will be on my list as well. Thanks for the great post and those boots are AMAZING!

This seriously looks like a great time! It’s so neat how each photographer has a different style and vibe with their pictures. I love spending afternoons in Shadyside. It’s such a quaint neighborhood 🙂 Girasole is my favorite place to eat there! I’m actually located right in Oakland! If you’d ever want to collaborate or meet up to chat, I’d love to! Blogger friends are the best 🙂
